Mantra Engages in Nigeria’s Economic Future
Celebrating Mantra’s 10th Anniversary: A Decade of Providing Expert Security Services in Nigeria
Welcome to our first Quarterly Newsletter of 2025!
2025 will be an exciting year for Mantra as we celebrate our 10th anniversary as a leading security service provider in Nigeria. Over the past decade, we have remained committed to delivering flawless execution of our expert security services in Nigeria and are constantly striving to expand our service offering to address the ever-changing security challenges.
2025 Economic Outlook and Considerations for Businesses in Nigeria
Mantra recently attended and sponsored several events hosted by prestigious organisations such as the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) and the Concerned Akwa Ibom Professionals in Lagos (CAKPIL) to discuss the current economic outlook in Nigeria.
The NBCC led a wide-ranging presentation on the global challenges that businesses in Nigeria should anticipate and prepare to mitigate so that that their operations remain unaffected. These global issues included the Ukraine War and the ongoing disruption of Russian gas supply to Europe, as well as the Israel-Hamas War resulting in heightened instability in the Middle East, increasing terrorism and insurgency risks.
On the subject of climate change it was predicted that further extreme weather events may lead to migration and security challenges, with new climate change policy shifts becoming increasingly likely under President Trump.
On the domestic front, several key government policy changes are likely to affect businesses in Nigeria during 2025. These include the fuel subsidy removal, bank recapitalisation, tax reforms and business environment reforms. It is clear that the Nigerian Government is moving towards tighter fiscal discipline to achieve economic stability and sustainable growth.
With approx. ₦16.48 trillion earmarked for capital expenditure, the government’s focus on infrastructure, health, education, agriculture and clean energy presents significant opportunities for international investors.
Security remains a top priority, with substantial funding allocated to combat terrorism, insurgency, and other security threats in Nigeria. As a trusted security service provider in Nigeria, we are committed to collaborating with key security industry stakeholders to enhance the security situation for businesses and potential investors in Nigeria.
Opportunities for International Businesses in Nigeria
The UK Government’s Department for Business and Trade recently hosted a webinar to highlight the investment opportunities that exist not just in Nigeria but in the wider West African region. Since the signing of the Enhanced Trade and Investment Partnership (ETIP) by the UK and Nigeria, it has become even easier for UK companies to engage in business operations in Nigeria.
We have already supported several UK companies during their trade missions to Nigeria by providing the following security services:
Aviation Security Services including personalised airport meet-and-greet with fast-track arrival assistance at Nigerian airports
Armed Police Escort Services using trained Nigerian MOPOL officers for secure transportation to hotels, business meetings and networking events
Security Consultancy and Risk Assessments by conducting comprehensive security surveys and risk assessments of business premises for new business entrants
Due Diligence and background checks by verifying the financial credibility of potential Nigerian business partners and screening of personnel
