Mantra Sponsors Important Security Events in Nigeria
Welcome to our Q2 Newsletter, featuring our recent corporate sponsorship activities at security industry conferences in Nigeria.
As a leading security service provider in Nigeria, we take our responsibilities to the wider security industry very seriously. As members of both ASIS (American Society for Industrial Security) International in the USA and ASIS Chapter 206 in Lagos, we have the opportunity to actively participate in important conferences and discuss the latest trends and innovations in the security industry. We strongly believe that participating in such events helps to strengthen the quality of our Security Consultancy and Risk Management services, as well as our Security Threats and Information Services for the benefit of our Clients.
ASIS Chapter 206 Lagos has over 700 members throughout Southwest Nigeria, and regularly holds events for security professionals, regardless of their level of experience. Our corporate sponsorship of both the Next Gen Conference 2.0 ‘Building a Secure Future: Career Pathways and Innovations for Africa’s Next Generation of Security Professionals’ in April and the Leadership Retreat ‘Hard & Soft Security: Addressing Threats with a focus on Human & National Development in Nigeria’ in May demonstrates our commitment to developing the skills of security professionals and improving the quality and standards of the security industry in Nigeria. Encouraging our employees to attend these events to further develop their security knowledge also helps us to meet our own Mission Statement of ‘delivering exceptional security services that are tailored to our clients' needs, utilising cutting-edge techniques and global standards’.
Two members of the Mantra team recently participated in the ASIS Next Gen conference, which featured a series of enlightening keynote speeches, a dynamic panel discussion, and interactive Q&A sessions that aimed to equip the attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to advance in the evolving field of security. The various sessions covered a wide range of topics; such as the importance of developing communication and leadership skills alongside technical security qualifications, the critical need to understand African geopolitical risks and intelligence, the vital role of technology and the need to embrace innovation, such as Artificial Intelligence, in order to stay ahead of the curve.
The event provided Mantra’s ‘Next Generation’ delegates with the valuable opportunity to hear directly from security industry experts, ask targeted questions and gain practical insights into real-world security challenges as well as future opportunities in the industry. We at Mantra are very proud to have been involved in such an inspirational event for the Next Generation of security professionals.
In May, the ASIS Leadership Retreat discussed the need to strike an intricate balance between hard (military and law enforcement) and soft (socio-economic and community-based approaches) security measures. The event brought together thought leaders, security experts, policymakers and stakeholders to analyse Nigeria’s current security challenges, such as terrorism, cyber threats and organised crime, discuss current security policies and develop future collaborative frameworks to enhance national security.
The Retreat also highlighted the crucial importance of engaging with local communities to mitigate risk and investigated the likely positive impact that improving the security situation in Nigeria will have on the Nigerian economy.
By fully participating in the Leadership Retreat, we at Mantra have gained an even deeper understanding of the security challenges in Nigeria and are determined to action the clear insights to help implement more effective security solutions across the country.
We are grateful to have had the opportunity to play such a prominent role at both of these industry-leading events and hope that all participating delegates benefited from attending. We believe that by sharing knowledge and by helping to shape future policies, this will lead to an improvement in the security situation in Nigeria.
