Enhanced Trade Deal offers new opportunities for UK/Nigeria trade

Our CEO and MD, Mr Aniekan Willie, was honoured to attend a recent business meeting held in Lagos, Nigeria with the Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch MP, UK Secretary of State for the Department of Business and Trade and Helen Grant MP, the UK Government Trade Envoy for Nigeria. Many leading industry representatives also attended the meeting, including those from oil and gas, communications, finance and FMCG, with several positive discussions taking place on how to promote bilateral trade between the two countries.

The meeting was held in the same week that the new Enhanced Trade and Investment Partnership (ETIP) was signed by both the UK and Nigeria in Abuja. This new trade deal is designed to grow the already thriving trading relationship between the two countries, which totalled more than £7 billion in 2023, with a particular focus on the expansion of legal, financial services and energy, particularly sustainable energy solutions.

We at Mantra view the ETIP trade deal as a huge opportunity for both the UK and Nigeria, and we are ready to help any UK or international company looking to do business in Nigeria for the first time. Our Due Diligence and Security Consultancy Services Teams can carry out a thorough vetting process of potential partner companies in Nigeria, including verifying financial information about the company and running thorough background checks on personnel. For companies looking to set up a business in Nigeria, we are able to help with all areas of start-up, such as carrying out security surveys and risk assessments on possible office locations.

Mantra Supports Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce in Health Walk

On Saturday 2nd March, the inaugural ‘Health Walk’ was held by the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC). Mantra had several representatives of our company participating in the walk, as well as providing security guards for the event as part of our Security Guard Services in Nigeria.

The walk was the final event in the NBCC ‘Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Week’, which aimed to highlight the critical importance of promoting good HSE practices in the workplace and in the community. Approximately 80 participants set off bright and early at 7am on the interesting route from the Hakuna Matata Theme Park around Victoria Island, Lagos in Nigeria.

The walk was aimed at promoting the physical fitness and well-being of NBCC members, while also allowing them the opportunity to network with each other as they engaged in a healthy activity.

We at Mantra were delighted to be involved in this event, and we are looking forward to supporting the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce in their future calendar of events.
